Department of Electrical Engineering

Dear Professor Luh:

\J
Enclosed is a set of drawings covering those parts not
included in the original set plus those drawings which list
modifications to the drawings already supplied.

By now you probably have figured out how to assemble the main
column assembly. If not, the hole added to the main column should
enable you to get at the inside screws.

I still owe you some parts. These include the potentiometer
elements for the outer joints, the encoder for joint #3 and the
wiring and connector components. I expect to ship most of this
within the next week. At the present time, I am waiting for a
replacement for the #3 encoder. The original ones I ordered were not
satisfactory, so I am attempting to get them replaced with a
different model.

Included with this package of literature is some of the data
you will need for wiring up the arm and designing your servo system.
The servo and interface drawings are by Tom Gafford who is designing
the Stanford Arm interface to the PDP-11/45. Unfortunately he still
nas not completed his system, so I can not tell you whether it works
or not.\.
